What does a professor really do?

More often than not, we only see one fraction of a professor's life: them teaching in a classroom. As a college student, that is all I saw too, until I starting doing research in a laboratory. The research experience opened up a whole another portal to a professor's life. Now that I have become a faculty member myself, I want to share what we do.
